Teenage Shoegazer recommends: Jarman – The Sense of Self

Jarman Promo1Jarman are a trio from Rome. They pigeonhole themselves as post rock for ease.

Their second album The Sense of Self is an instrumental album that is a soundtrack for film which has not yet been written.  The opener Stratos is a colossal slow post rock beast with a real sense of gravity.  Then the rest of the album has guitar work which is fragile, simultaneously happy/melancholy.  I would draw comparisons with Vini Reilly from The Durutti Column but more upbeat.
