About

This is blog about being on the indie shoegaze fringes. The late eighties and early nineties, with the influence of Madchester in the air, youth culture never was so good.

Featured bands Chapterhouse, Lush, Ride and the Boo Radleys. Loads more from the obscure indie realms.

  2. Hi Russel –

We are a band from Toronto, Canada, called FAUXKNOW. We’ve just released our debut album, “tactics”, which we’d love to submit to you for review (let us know how!) In the meantime, here’s our first video for the song “Pari Passu”:

  3. I’m in a band called Moe Meguro with 2 of my buddies. We all live in disparate parts of the world, from Texas to Japan, but we try to get together a couple of times a year to write some music and record. We just finished our second full length record and it would be rad if you would check it out! It’s an amalgamation of our influences, from Big Star and The Beatles to My Bloody Valentine to Ghostface Killa! It was a true DIY labor of love; we recorded, mixed, and pressed the LP without label support. Please give it a listen if you have a moment.

Thanks again for your time, I appreciate it!

  4. We’re a San Francisco based high energy mathy shoegaze/post-punk band and we just released our ep Cinema Graphica. People describe us as being a mix of bands like Fugazi, Shiner, and Sunny Day Real Estate. We would love it if you’d check out our music and consider reviewing or featuring our band.

You can listen to us on spotify or on bandcamp at: https://diagonalmints.bandcamp.com/

Thank you for your time and consideration!

  5. Hi, this is Bryan from the band Bright As Yellow. I was hoping you might give my music a listen and if you deem it worthy repost it on your awesome page. Keep up the great work on your page, I often come to your page to discover new shoegaze bands. Here’s a good starting point for my music:

  6. I was browsing your blog and thought I’d drop you an e-mail with a link to a track from an EP I recently completed. It’s a small ambient/shoegaze/experimental project, and while it won’t be for everyone, I’m working to search out its audience by way of various blogs and small indie labels. I think you may like it.

    Thank you for your time.

  7. As there is a shoegaze quality to the guitars on this single, specifically the first track, I thought I would send it your way in hope’s of a listen and perhaps a feature or review.

I am attaching a private link to my latest 3 song single which will be out November 2 on Submarine Broadcast Company. The Alas… the Sun is Shining and Your are Still Alive single is influenced by Spectoresque intros, Jesus and Mary Chain guitars, Shaking the Habitual Era Knife, “Telestar”, and the drone experiments of Earth. It a joyous, rawkus, and pummeling 18 minute experience.

Looking for review and features. Thank you.

  8. Hey there, I wanted to introduce our band Shadows Tranquil to the blog.
On October 25th 2018 we released our debut full length, entitled Wander.

    shadowstranquil.bandcamp.com

Wander was written, recorded, and mixed entirely at home by the band and mastered in Chicago by Angel Marcloid
It combines elements of dense noisier guitar based shoegaze with alternative genres such as slow-core, slacker rock etc. It is themed entirely to a nonexistent ethereal realm of perpetual autumn.

  9. Hey, I’m hoping you’ll review my bands music! In Life is a collaboration between Oakland musicians Omar Martin and local hardcore icon Nick Noro. We just released an EP, which you can find at the Spotify link below or at inlife.bandcamp.com
Our sounds blends elements of punk, shoegaze, and trap, for an energetic and schizo sound inspired by life in Oakland.
